Record #153815:

Zoogeographic relationships of Magellan Nudibranchia (Mollusca: Opisthobranchia) with particular reference to species from adjacent regions / Michael Schrödl.

Title: Zoogeographic relationships of Magellan Nudibranchia (Mollusca: Opisthobranchia) with particular reference to species from adjacent regions / Michael Schrödl.
Author(s): Schrödl, Michael.
Date: 1999.
Abstract: Analyses biogeographic relations of Magellan Nudibranchia to adjacent regions, especially sub-Antarctic and Antarctic waters, based on distributional data of 36 Magellan nudibranch species collected in coastal Magellan waters from 1991 to 1996, with additional specimens from coastal and deeper waters of Magellan Strait and Beagle Channel area collected during Joint Magellan Victor Henson research cruise in 1994. Distribution of species from South Georgia indicated transitional sub-Antarctic conditions. Antarctic waters show high nudibranch endemism, though some Antarctic species extend far into Atlantic with cold Antarctic deep water currents. In special issue Magellan-Antarctic: ecosystems that drifted apart.
