The coupling between viscoplastic deformation and damage in ice / J. Weiss, N. Hotellier, M. Gay.

Title: The coupling between viscoplastic deformation and damage in ice / J. Weiss, N. Hotellier, M. Gay.
Author(s): Weiss, J.
Hotellier, N.
Gay, M.
Date: 1998.
Publisher: Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema
In: Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998. (1998.),
Abstract: Investigates two aspects of coupling between viscoplastic deformation and damage of ductile/brittle ice under compression by means of mechanical experiments and characterisation of ice fracturing. Cataclastic flow and increase of dislocation creep enhance creep strain-rate of damaged ice. Emphasises need for further study.
