Macroscopic compressive shear faults in S2 columnar ice / D. Iliescu, E.M. Schulson.
Title: | Macroscopic compressive shear faults in S2 columnar ice / D. Iliescu, E.M. Schulson. |
Author(s): | Iliescu, D. Schulson, E. M. |
Date: | 1998. |
Publisher: | Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema |
In: | Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998. (1998.), |
Abstract: | Investigates issue of local boundary conditions imposed on formation and orientation of terminal shear faults in S2 columnar ice under biaxial compression. Used three boundary conditions, concluding that average inclination angles of terminal faults increased with increase in degree of confinement applied to loading surfaces. |
