Abstract: | Reviews distribution in relation to temperature prior to collapse of stock in late 1960s. Ocean climate was relatively mild from 1954-1964. 1965-1969 were very cold, with dramatic change in East Icelandic Current. During mild period herring could cross tongue of cold water NE and E of Iceland, but in cold period migration and feeding were in Bear Island area. |
