Record #153497:

Input of dissolved constituents from River THjórsá to S-Iceland coastal waters / Sólveig R. Ólafsdóttir, Jón Ólafsson.

Title: Input of dissolved constituents from River THjórsá to S-Iceland coastal waters / Sólveig R. Ólafsdóttir, Jón Ólafsson.
Author(s): Ólafsdóttir, Sólveig R.
Ólafsson, Jón.
Date: 1999.
In: Rit Fiskideildar. (1999.), XVI (1999)
Abstract: River drains 7 530 km² in neovolcanic zone, from two glaciers. Constituents were studied over annual cycle and estuarine behaviour of nutrients and trace metals once in spring. Results agree with previous, except for 16% lower CO₂. Mean concentrations of Cd, Zn and Cu were low., and do not vary with season or discharge. In fast mixing estuary, silicate and nitrate were conservative, but phosphate was removed. Trace metals were all released into solution.
Notes:

Rit Fiskideildar. XVI :79-88 (1999).

Keywords: 546.3 -- Chemistry, metals.
556.114 -- Water, chemical properties.
C -- Oceanography, hydrography and hydrology.
(*3) -- Arctic regions.
(*35) -- Iceland.
