| Abstract: | Compares four sea surface temperature (SST) datasets, finding some significant differences between Global Sea-Ice and SST dataset (GISST, version 2.3b) and National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) 1961-90 SST climatologies, particularly in marginal sea-ice zones. Identifies problems in all SST datasets and significant differences. Some discrepancies may be helped by reprocessing SST data. |
