Record #153438:

Global sea surface temperature analyses: multiple problems and their implications for climate analysis, modeling, and reanalysis / James W. Hurrell, Kevin E. Trenberth.

Title: Global sea surface temperature analyses: multiple problems and their implications for climate analysis, modeling, and reanalysis / James W. Hurrell, Kevin E. Trenberth.
Author(s): Hurrell, James W.
Trenberth, Kevin E.
Date: 1999.
In: Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society. (1999.), Vol. 80(12) (1999)
Abstract: Compares four sea surface temperature (SST) datasets, finding some significant differences between Global Sea-Ice and SST dataset (GISST, version 2.3b) and National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) 1961-90 SST climatologies, particularly in marginal sea-ice zones. Identifies problems in all SST datasets and significant differences. Some discrepancies may be helped by reprocessing SST data.
