Abstract: Reports results of examination of over 300 stones collected at emperor penguin breeding colonies in Weddell Sea, including composition and provenance. Discusses movements of stones carried by glaciers with particular reference to coastal regions of Antarctica, and discusses possible function of stomach stones.
