Record #153313:

Iceberg prediction model to reduce navigation hazards: Columbia Glacier, Alaska / W. Tangborn, A. Post.

Title: Iceberg prediction model to reduce navigation hazards: Columbia Glacier, Alaska / W. Tangborn, A. Post.
Author(s): Tangborn, W.
Post, A.
Date: 1998.
Publisher: Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema
In: Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998. (1998.),
Abstract: Describes monitoring of Columbia Glacier, Alaska since 1996 for calving of icebergs that may pose threat to shipping in Prince William Sound. Model uses glacier dynamics to show calving patterns, and another model is being developed to predict and thus reduce iceberg hazards.
