Record #153312:
Comparison of ice thickness from ship based video with field data / Mikko Lensu, C. Haas.
Title: | Comparison of ice thickness from ship based video with field data / Mikko Lensu, C. Haas. |
Author(s): | Lensu, Mikko. Haas, C. |
Date: | 1998. |
Publisher: | Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema |
In: | Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998. (1998.), |
Abstract: | Compares average ice thickness measurements obtained from shipborne video with direct measurements by electromagnetic sounding in Kara/Laptev Seas in 1996 and finds no systematic difference between them. Concludes video method cheap and reliable, though its does not show ridged ice types. |
