Record #153291:
A physical model study of ice retention booms / Andrew Tuthill, Gordon Gooch.
Title: | A physical model study of ice retention booms / Andrew Tuthill, Gordon Gooch. |
Author(s): | Tuthill, Andrew. Gooch, Gordon. |
Date: | 1998. |
Publisher: | Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema |
In: | Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998. (1998.), |
Abstract: | Hydraulic model study investigates alternatives for ice retention at open water velocities in 0.6 to 1.0 m/s range. Found possible to increase ice restraint capcity of model booms, though with higher water velocities ice entrainment and under-ice erosion limited performance. |
Notes: | In: Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998 / Hung Tao Shen, ed. |
