Review of ice boom loads in the St. Lawrence River, 1994-1997 / A.M. Cornett, R. Frederking, B. Morse, S. Dumont.

Title: Review of ice boom loads in the St. Lawrence River, 1994-1997 / A.M. Cornett, R. Frederking, B. Morse, S. Dumont.

Date: 1998.
Publisher: Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema
In: Ice in surface waters. Proceedings of 14th International Symposium on Ice, Potsdam, NY, USA, 27-31 July 1998. (1998.),
Abstract: Analyses performance of new ice-control boom at three sites along St Lawrence River in winters 1994-95, 1995-96, 1996-97 intending to improve formation of stable ice cover. Loading varies throughout winter according to ice conditions prevailing. Daily maximum loads in anchor and section cables tend to follow Gumbel distribution and so this can be used to extrapolate maximum loads over longer term.
