Record #153244:
Palaeodirectional and palaeointensity results of Paleocene and Eocene basalts from West Greenland / Janna Riisager, Peter Riisager, Mireille Perrin.
Title: | Palaeodirectional and palaeointensity results of Paleocene and Eocene basalts from West Greenland / Janna Riisager, Peter Riisager, Mireille Perrin. |
Author(s): | Riisager, Janna. Riisager, Peter. Perrin, Mireille. |
Date: | 1999. |
In: | Geological Society of Denmark. Bulletin. (1999.), Vol. 46(1) (1999) |
Abstract: | 12 sites from two lava series and a dike were sampled in palaeomagnetic study of flood basalts. Most rocks had clear one component remanent magnetism with high unblocking temperature (mostly above 500 deg.C) and high median destructive fields (30-40 mT). All are reversely magnetised and are calibrated with ⁴⁰Ar/³⁹Ar ages. Virtual dipole moments were found and compared. |
Notes: | Geological Society of Denmark. Bulletin. Vol. 46(1) :69-78 (1999). |
Keywords: | 550.382.3 -- Rocks and minerals, magnetic properties. B -- Geology and soil sciences. (*3) -- Arctic regions. (*38) -- Greenland. (*384.66) -- Nuuk/Godthab. |
