| Abstract: | Acoustic and trawl searches showed distribution, number and growth among cod, haddock, Greenland halibut and redfish from 1981. Compensatory calculations were made of fish in Russian zone when necessary. In 1996 and 1999 cod index was low for 1-year and 2-year groups, while 3-5-year group was average. Only 1-year haddock had high index. Growth rate is low but improving. Indexes for both types of redfish are lowest ever with no sign of recruitment. Halibut indexes reduced greatly from 1997 to 1998, with little sign of recruitment. |
