Abstract: | Seals have been in existence 25 years. First was Jens Roding's design of reindeer and goose with Pole Star. "Cautious" 30 000 sheets sold out on first day. Sales peaked and are now slowly decreasing. 1999 version sold 50 000. They were subject of Nipitittagannguit (The little seal) song by Johan Kleist. Members of production committee were Greenlanders living in Denmark or Danes with special interest in Greenland. Subjects include scenes from everyday life, snow crystals and wildlife. First religious version was angels in 1993. Queen Margrethe's was candle in 1983. Sales have enabled projects; biggest was Christmas Seal College in Nuuk in 1982. 1999 version was typical postal kayak with guiding star. |
