Abstract: Paper compares results of workshop on research needs with official policy documents on forestry and reindeer management in Finland. Qualitative effects on young, on livelihoods and on recovery after Chernobyl-type disasters are listed. Participation policy is discussed and tourism is added to topics for consideration.
