Abstract: 30 species are noted. "Deep" means deeper than 400-500 m. Research has been only in last 30 years, mainly last 10, using RV Kaldbaki. Goals were knowing what is there, analysing older records, noting by-catches, collecting for museum and learning how they live. Latter includes breeding details - place, time and method - and particular layers of "deep scattering" in Irminger Sea where many species are found.
