| Abstract: | Paper from Workshop on Modelling of the Marine-Atmospheric Boundary Layer, Helsinki 7-8 December 1998: proceedings. Presents observations of atmospheric boundary layer over sea ice from Baltic Sea, Weddell Sea and Denmark Strait, where temperature inversions and low-level jets occurred regularly. Summer inversions over Weddell Sea and Denmark Strait are similar to winter inversions over ice edge in Baltic Sea. Baroclinic mechanism seems important during ice-parallel flow in formation of jets. |
