Abstract: Aerial photography of 111 glaciers in New Zealand for last 20 years shows reversal of past century trend towards recession. Advances have not been observed in cirque glaciers, though shown in mountain glaciers. Some valley glaciers have advanced though larger ones continue to recede. Snowlines have lowered by 67 m, equivalent to cooling of 0.47°C In special issue: Glaciers of the Southern Hemisphere.
