Measurement and estimative models of glacier mass balance in China / Xie Zichu, Han Jiankang, Liu Chaohai, Liu Shiyin.

In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (1999.), Vol. 81A(4) (1999)
Abstract: In special issue on Methods of Mass Balance Measurements and Modelling. Because of China's monsoon climate, suggests annual balance is best shown by net accumulation and ablation during year, together with summer precipitation at glacier. Models based on relationships of multi-year mass balance to equilibrium line and mass-balance gradient of glacier in steady state, or on maximum entropy principle and hydro-meteorological data, help estimation of multi-year mass balance of glacierized areas in mountain ranges or drainage basins.
