Record #152711:
Annual mass-balance series of a temperate glacier in the Caucasus, reconstructed from an ice core / Victor V. Popovnin.
Title: | Annual mass-balance series of a temperate glacier in the Caucasus, reconstructed from an ice core / Victor V. Popovnin. |
Author(s): | Popovnin, Victor V. |
Date: | 1999. |
In: | Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (1999.), Vol. 81A(4) (1999) |
Abstract: | In special issue on Methods of Mass Balance Measurements and Modelling. Demonstrates how identification of annual layers in firn/ice core allows reconstruction of mass-balance sequence for glaciers where there have been no direct observations, and applies this to cores from Djantugan firn plateau in main Caucasus ridge. Can also show dynamics of past climate. |
