The Tarfala mass balance programme / Per Holmlund, Peter Jansson.

Title: The Tarfala mass balance programme / Per Holmlund, Peter Jansson.
Author(s): Holmlund, Per.
Jansson, Peter.
Date: 1999.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (1999.), Vol. 81A(4) (1999)
Abstract: In special issue on Methods of Mass Balance Measurements and Modelling. Describes Tarfala programme studying seven glaciers across northern Scandinavian mountains for gradients in mass balance parameters, in both winter and summer. Storglaciären is given greatest priority. Radar and GPS techniques are used in conjunction with older methods. Finds Swedish glaciers still retreating, but are approaching quasi-steady state.
