Abstract: Problems of living up to democratic ideal under modern interventionist government are described. Communication with administration should be eased by political parties, but selection of personnel for committees, florid bureaucratic language and limitation of hearings to invited people are all barriers. Case of Greenland Law Commission is one where some at least of these barriers were removed.
