Abstract: Charophyte has been found at several new sites in Norway and is new to Finland. Finds in Canada and Alaska show that it probably has circumpolar Arctic-Alpine distribution, and is likely to occur in Russia. Herbarium in St Petersburg should be investigated among labels Nitella flexilis. It prefers cold water, and is vulnerable to eutrophication and acidification.
