Macro- and meiobenthic fauna of the Yoldiabukta glacial bay (Isfjorden, Spitsbergen) / Maria Włodarska-Kowalczuk, Maria Szymelfenig, Lech Kotwicki.
Title: | Macro- and meiobenthic fauna of the Yoldiabukta glacial bay (Isfjorden, Spitsbergen) / Maria Włodarska-Kowalczuk, Maria Szymelfenig, Lech Kotwicki. |
Author(s): | Włodarska-Kowalczuk, Maria. Szymelfenig, Maria. Kotwicki, Lech. |
Date: | 1999. |
In: | Polish Polar Research. (1999.), Vol. 20(4) (1999) |
Abstract: | Total abundance and biomass of meiobenthos were low in littoral and taxonomic composition was very diverse. No macrofauna was found in this zone. In sublittoral (10-95 m) both sizes were abundant, with Nematoda and Harpacticoida dominating meiofauna. Macrofauna formed community dominated by Yoldiella fraterna (after which fjord is named), with lowest diversity in forefields of glacier. |
