Record #152538:

Velocity difference between the surface and base of Ice Stream B2, West Antarctica, from radar fading-pattern experiment / C. Liu, Charles R. Bentley, N.E. Lord.

Title: Velocity difference between the surface and base of Ice Stream B2, West Antarctica, from radar fading-pattern experiment / C. Liu, Charles R. Bentley, N.E. Lord.
Author(s): Liu, C.
Bentley, Charles R.
Lord, N. E.
Date: 1999.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1999.), Vol. 29 (1999)
Abstract: Describes spatial fading pattern obtained from ice-sounding radar receiver and transmitter moved together across surface of snow. Repeated measurements of fading pattern can reveal relative displacement between snow surface and targets near bed of ice and/or in ice. Three largest high-density grids (out of six) were significantly different. Differences may be related to complex systems of strains within ice stream reported previously.
