Morphology and variations of glacial drainage basins in the King George Island ice field, Antarctica / Jefferson C. Simões, Ulisses F. Bremer, Francisco E. Aquino, Francisco A. Ferron.

Title: Morphology and variations of glacial drainage basins in the King George Island ice field, Antarctica / Jefferson C. Simões, Ulisses F. Bremer, Francisco E. Aquino, Francisco A. Ferron.
Author(s): Simões, Jefferson C.
Bremer, Ulisses F.
Aquino, Francisco E.
Ferron, Francisco A.
Date: 1999.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1999.), Vol. 29 (1999)
Abstract: Uses SPOT mosaic of King George Island, Antarctica, to show major morphological features. Delineates three ice domes and 70 glacier drainage basins, covering 93% of island area. Finds general retreat of ice fronts during 1956-95, especially on eastern side. Estimates transient snowline elevation to have risen from 200-250 m in mid-1950s to 300--350 m by 1988.
