Abstract: Describes automatic ice-fabric analyzer which can determine individual c-axis orientations by image-analysis techniques. All crystals within view of charge coupled device can be analyzed at same time. With image-processing techniques individual crystals are recognized automatically and grain-size and grain shape can be measured simultaneously. This analyzer has been used for textural studies of Dome Fuji, Antarctica, ice cores.
