In: Annals of Glaciology. (1999.), Vol. 29 (1999)
Abstract: Concentrations of methanesulfonic acid (MSA) and non-sea-salt SO₄²⁻ show distinct variations with depth in snow pit samples in Lambert Glacier basin, East Antarctica. El Chichon and Hudson volcanic eruptions do not perturb nssSO₄²⁻ concentrations here though they are recorded at South Pole. Observes significant anticorrelation between MSA concentration in snow and sea-ice area for south Indian Ocean sector, but no clear relationship between MSA and ENSO events.
