Abstract: Measures diffusive motion of water molecules in brine inclusions of Antarctic sea ice using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) apparatus. Finds diffusive motion of water molecules in brine inclusions to be strongly anisotropic, showing rapidity exceeding that expected for thermal equilibrium Brownian behaviour, attributable to convective transport.
