Record #152490:

Effective sample size for glacier mass balance / J. Graham Cogley.

Title: Effective sample size for glacier mass balance / J. Graham Cogley.
Author(s): Cogley, J. Graham.
Date: 1999.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (1999.), Vol. 81A(4) (1999)
Abstract: Correlograms from multiple time series of point mass balance, measured on White Glacier, Axel Heiberg Island, Canada and Abramov Glacier, Alai range, Kirgizstan show that correlation decreases with difference in elevation between points. Effective sample size is small fraction of number of point measurements. Suggests criteria for modelling spatial variability of mass balance.
