| Abstract: | Reports results of six joint expeditions to Laptev Sea in 1993, 1994 and 1995 and addition of 150 invertebrate species to list of known species from this region, comprising 1235 species in total. Discusses geographical distribution, numbers, biomass and faunal composition of macrobenthic species in relation to water depth, seabed sedimentology and near-bottom water salinities. Proposes ecological-biogeographical zonation scheme, combining current information about distribution of macrobenthic communities and brackish water masses. |
