| Abstract: | Applies three-dimensional polythermal ice-sheet model SICOPOLIS (Simulation Code for Polythermal Ice Sheets) to Northern Hemisphere and conducts simulations through last two climatic cycles. Simulations are driven by surface-temperature reconstructions of deep ice cores (GRIP, Vostok) and parameterizations for change of precipitation with time. Discusses Saale/Eem and Wisconsinan/Holocene transitions. Amount and rate of deglaciation agree well with SPECMAP record for both cases and show evidence for early start of Eem Interglacial. |
