Abstract: | Numerical model reconstruction of north-eastern Laurentide ice sheet in Baffin Island-Foxe Basin region allows determination of boundary conditions permitting advance of low surface slope ice stream into and out of Cumberland Sound while maintaining ice-free of nonsliding thin ice on adjacent plateaus of Cumberland Peninsula. Foxe Dome ice flowing into Cumberland Sound may have been important conduit in connecting interior of north-eastern Laurentide ice sheet to Labrador Sea. |
