Abstract: Short pieces describe: rapid advance of 350 m thick, 1 km wide glacier on Disko Island - 10 km in 4 years - probably caused by colder climate; students' discovery of surging glacier; Saqqaq objects from Qeqertasussuk dig 1984-87 are now displayed in Qasigiannguit Museum; ice core climatology; North GRIP 99 boring to 1751 m was great success and caught up results lost in 1997 when borer stuck; Aalborg Zoo's new polar bear house is opened; medical research from AMAP shows large concentrations of PCB's in East Greenland hunters, possibly accentuated in smokers; geological, botanical archaeological and cartographical work in Washington Land and Inglefield Land, NW Greenland.
