Abstract: | Effect of omissions on radial growth of Scots pine near Kemira Chemicals Oy was studied from 1950-1995, with controls in two relatively clean areas. Fertilising nitrogen dust increased growth from 1950s to late 1960s, after which radial growth decreased abruptly and remained low for c. 20 years, with marked sensitivity to winter temperatures. Reasons are suggested for much improved recent growth. |
