Record #151488:

Grønlands klimahistorie geologisk set / Naja Mikkelsen.

Title: Grønlands klimahistorie geologisk set / Naja Mikkelsen.
Translated title: Geological aspects of Greenland's climatic history.
Author(s): Mikkelsen, Naja.
Date: 1999.
Publisher: Århus, Denmark: Forlaget Systime
Language: Danish.
In: Inuit, kultur og samfund. En grundbog i eskimologi. (1999.), Vol. 18
Abstract: Describes mean temperatures over last 900 000 years, with zoom on last 10 000 and last 3000, and some causes of change such as distance from sun, direction of axis, plate tectonics and possibly human pollutants. Arctic climate seems to be sensitive, so chaotic. Greenland has been truly green at one time, even Kap København. Records in Greenland are geological strata, with some remains of life, and ice cores 3000 m deep. Large-scale ocean circulation, possible changes in it and their effects are discussed.
Notes:
