Habakuk og andre profeter i Vestgrønland / Inge Kleivan.

Title: Habakuk og andre profeter i Vestgrønland / Inge Kleivan.
Translated title: Habakuk and other prophets in West Greenland.
Author(s): Kleivan, Inge.
Date: 1999.
Publisher: Århus, Denmark: Forlaget Systime
Language: Danish.
In: Inuit, kultur og samfund. En grundbog i eskimologi. (1999.), Vol. 6
Abstract: Habakuk was man of dreams and visions in 1780s during revival at Evighedsfjord. His name has formed in Greenlandic aapakorpoq - "has heretical opinions". Revival started with wife Maria Magdalene. Movement owed part of its strength to its independence from Europeans. It used many psalms of Herrnhuters, with emotional worship and gun salvoes, to be heard in Heaven. Another case was young woman Inequnarneq in Upernavik district in 1874, who claimed to have borne "Jesus child". She was punished variously, including hair cut off, and sent to Coventry. Both cases happened soon after arrival of missionaries.
