Distortion of isochronous layers in ice revealed by ground-penetrating radar / David G. Vaughan, Hugh F.J. Corr, christopher S.M. Doake, Ed.D. Waddington.

Title: Distortion of isochronous layers in ice revealed by ground-penetrating radar / David G. Vaughan, Hugh F.J. Corr, christopher S.M. Doake, Ed.D. Waddington.
Author(s): Vaughan, David G.
Corr, Hugh F. J.
Doake, christopher S. M.
Waddington, Ed. D.
Date: 1999.
In: Nature. (1999.), Vol. 398(6725) (1999)
Abstract: Presents ground-penetrating radar data from Fletcher Promontory, Antarctica, showing arches and troughs in isochronous ice layers to 100 m depth. Growth with depth shows origin, with local anomalies in accumulation rate correlating with ice surface slope. One arch appears to be result of local anomaly in vertical strain-rate, feature postulated by Raymond but not previously shown to exist in field.
