Abstract: | Marine biologist describes new fishing problem. Seals dive to 400 m depth to bite guts out of cod. When seals come up in nets they are also fierce. Hooded and harp seals are both increasing in West Ice; total effect is not known, but selective damage does more harm than taking whole fish. |
