Abstract: Presents hierarchy of formulations of interaction between ice and ocean, with principal difference treatment of turbulent transfer within oceanic boundary layer. Differing parameterizations of ice-ocean interaction yield melting rates and so buoyancy fluxes that vary over factor of 5 for same thermal driving.
