| Abstract: | Annual account of survival of snowpatches in Scotland, giving number of patches surviving. Only one in Garbh Choire Mor of Braeriach in the Cairngorms survived until winter snowfalls in October 1998, compared with none in 1996, two in 1997. Questions if this is result of climatic warming, shift in prevailing wind direction or just normal fluctuation. |
