Record #150697:

Southern exposure / Gabrielle Walker.

Title: Southern exposure / Gabrielle Walker.
Author(s): Walker, Gabrielle.
Date: 1999.
In: New Scientist. (1999.), Vol. 163(2199) (1999)
Abstract: Summarises history of recent breakup of Wordie Ice Shelf and reduction of Larsen Ice Shelf, and current work on Müller Ice Shelf on western side of Antarctic Peninsula, with sediment cores being used to analyse past history. Teams from U.S. National Science Foundation and British Antarctic Survey intend to study Larsen Ice shelf in next season. Higher temperatures at peninsula are not necessarily symptomatic of global climate change: further study essential.
