Abstract: Article follows development of Norway's relationships in three dimensions: political-ideological, economic and military. All went in same direction, but at different tempi. Britain gradually lost her leading position, while Germany arose from its ashes. First phase from 1945-1957 saw first normalisation of ties with Germany, from 1957-1973 Germany became stronger and tensions ensued with it and with Britain. From 1973-1986 stable pattern was formed, with the two powers as Norway's reference points in Europe, and Norway entered oil age. Last period is that of deep international upheavals.
