Abstract: Presents modelled population predictions for 20 years, using 1998 population estimates as base. Notes that current population estimates reflect impact of recent economic events such as slow-down in gold sector and fiscal restraint programmes of territorial government. Results from population projection model indicate that population impacts of slow-down may be felt for as many as five years.
