Record #150573:

High-resolution modeling of the advance of the Younger Dryas ice sheet and its climate in Scotland / Alun Hubbard.

Title: High-resolution modeling of the advance of the Younger Dryas ice sheet and its climate in Scotland / Alun Hubbard.
Author(s): Hubbard, Alun.
Date: 1999.
In: Quaternary Research. (1999.), Vol. 52(1) (1999)
Abstract: Develops a quasi-three-dimensional, time-dependent ice flow/mass balance model for Scotland, applied at 1 km resolution. Includes essential longitudinal correction term. Reconstruction of past climatic and environmental conditions shows Scotland susceptible to glaciation after temperature depression of 2.5°C under present-day precipitation. Support is found for GRIP-style (Greenland Ice Core Project) temperature curve affecting Scotland during Younger Dryas though continued expansion under these climatic conditions conflicts with empirical evidence.
