Record #150523:

The high ice plateau of the Juneau Icefield, British Columbia: form and dynamics / Kenneth F. Sprenke, Maynard M. Miller, Scott R. McGee, Guy W. Adema.

Title: The high ice plateau of the Juneau Icefield, British Columbia: form and dynamics / Kenneth F. Sprenke, Maynard M. Miller, Scott R. McGee, Guy W. Adema.
Author(s): Sprenke, Kenneth F.
Miller, Maynard M.
McGee, Scott R.

Date: 1999.
In: Canadian Geographer. (1999.), Vol. 43(1) (1999)
Abstract: Defines and describes Juneau Icefield, together with its glacial complexes, in particular Matthes, Llewellyn and Tulsequah glaciers. Seismic reflection and gravity were used to detect thickness of ice. Geophysical results show rugged subglacial topography, not expected from featureless flat plain of ice surface. Surface ice-flow vectors appear strongly correlated to slope of ice surface, though unrelated to bedrock topography. More study needed of present-day flow regime and geomorphogenic history before research borehole can be usefully positioned on this high ice plateau.
