Abstract: 23% of owners are women, owning 14% of total. They average 45% of their time herding, whether or not they have other occupations (results of previous author, in Finland). For statistical survey herding work was split in two: with animals and at home, including care of domestic deer, clothing repair, duodji etc. In Saami areas women spent 82 hours monthly in herding work.
