Record #150390:
Existence of traveling wave solutions to the problem of soil freezing described by a model called M₁ / Yoshisuke Nakano.
Title: | Existence of traveling wave solutions to the problem of soil freezing described by a model called M₁ / Yoshisuke Nakano. |
Author(s): | Nakano, Yoshisuke. |
Date: | 1999. |
In: | CRREL Report. (1999.), Vol. 99-5 (1999) |
Abstract: | Presents mathematical model called M₁, proposing traveling wave solutions to problem of freezing process of soil. Given thermal and hydraulic conditions in fine-grained soil, these solutions exhibit three patterns. When frost front advances, water is either attracted to it or expelled from it. Under some conditions ice layer may grow containing few soil particles. |
