Abstract: Stomach and intestine contents were collected from 47 animals shot between May and September (1989-1996). Prey were identified from whole specimens or otoliths, exoskeletons, beaks, jaws, operculae and shell remains. Commonest fish was polar cod, in 49%, and commonest crustacean was spider crab, in 59%. Males anf females fed similarly. Study shows that these seals are benthic feeders, with wide variety of foods.
