Abstract: INSROP Sub-Programme: Trade and Commercial Shipping Aspects. Reviews resource potential of region as whole and assesses resources and transportation in nine sub-regions along with analysis of existing cargo movements. Describes in detail cargo handling facilities and cargo volumes for major ports of region. Presents prospective transport scenarios for each sub-region including utilisation of Northern Sea Route. Concludes that NSR is important to north-east region. Presents set of scenarios for economic growth of region for 2005, 2010 and 2015.
